Sunny is an accomplished public policy specialist and program leader with cross-sectoral expertise spanning digital transformation, agriculture, climate resilience, and global health. He has worked with the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, where he led a diverse portfolio of digital agriculture and AI initiatives. His key contributions include digitizing the PM-Kisan scheme, developing the National Pest Surveillance System (NPSS).Sunny has also played a pivotal role in fostering public-private partnerships with major technology companies and evaluating agri-tech startups to integrate cutting-edge innovations for sustainable farming.
Sunny’s journey in governance and digital innovation began when he was invited by the Government of Delhi and Indus Action to lead the digital transformation of the Department of Labour while still at university. As Product and Learning Head at Indus Action, he managed cross-functional teams to build secure, scalable platforms handling sensitive citizen and employment data, ensuring robust trust and safety compliance.
He also brings experience in political consulting, where he led campaign strategy, policy analysis, and communication efforts, leveraging grassroots insights and risk assessments to design targeted, high-impact interventions. With a strong grounding in international affairs, Sunny holds a MPP degree from University of Chicago and MPhil degree in International Relations from JNU, where his thesis explored governance fragility and geopolitical aid strategies in North Africa and the EU.
With a rare blend of experience across government, multilateral institutions, and grassroots initiatives, Sunny brings strategic clarity, systems-level thinking, and a deep commitment to sustainable development. He is known for his ability to operate in complex, ambiguous environments and navigate the intersection of policy, technology, and impact with ease.
