Sanjana Shanbhogue

Project Associate, Tech Policy

Sanjana holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and a Master’s degree in Human Disease Genetics from Centre for Human Genetics. At the Centre for Human Genetics, her research was focused on building computational pipelines to find genes influencing survival in drug-resistant cancers. This work strengthened her foundation in analytical problem-solving and data-driven inquiry.

Prior to joining IIC, she worked as a Client Solutions Data Scientist at a start-up, designing and implementing AI solutions for Fortune 500 companies. Her projects spanned pharmacovigilance and sustainability, focusing on translating advanced technologies into practical applications with measurable impact.

Sanjana’s interests lie at the intersection of artificial intelligence, health, and sustainability. She is particularly motivated by the potential of AI to act as an enabler of scale, addressing complex challenges while being deployed responsibly and with sensitivity to context.

Outside of work, she is usually found lost in a book, experimenting with art, or exploring new bookstores and adding to her stack that grows faster than she can finish it!
