Samia Mehraj

Senior Project Associate, Telangana Governance Project

Born and raised in Baramulla, Kashmir, Samia’s inclination to drive welfare initiatives is immediate and personal. She studied engineering in her undergraduate and volunteered extensively with AIESEC by serving as the vice president for its development program. In 2018, Samia graduated from Ashoka University’s Young India Fellowship Program as a Deutsche Bank Scholar.

Formerly, Samia has worked with The Bombay Review Magazine, CIELead and most recently with Genpact Social Impact Fellowship on a project in the education sector. Currently, she is also pursuing a PGD in Environmental Law and Policy from NLU Delhi. Samia is an advocate for gender, environment and human rights. She believes that good policies form the foundation of social reforms and their inclusivity is paramount for progress.
