Lakshya Gupta
Project Associate, Tech Policy
Lakshya Gupta is a legal professional passionate about harnessing technology for public good. She began her career at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, one of India’s leading law firms, where she specialised in tax advisory and worked extensively on fintech policy. Her experience includes helping set up India’s first international branch campus in GIFT City, advising on the country’s early crypto taxation and regulatory frameworks, assisting global companies in securing FIU licences, and supporting fintech innovation within the GIFT City ecosystem.
Lakshya has consistently paired her legal work with a strong commitment to social impact. In law school, she spent a year engaged in environmental legal advocacy, contributing to research on ecocide, stubble burning, and wildlife conservation through international collaborations. She has also been involved in pro bono efforts in the education and environment sectors.
Following her time at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, she worked briefly with Tech Law Policy Advisors, a Dubai-based law firm, where she gained international exposure to evolving AI and crypto regulatory regimes.
Now transitioning fully into the policy space, Lakshya hopes to leverage her hands-on experience in fintech and taxation to contribute meaningfully to inclusive, data-driven governance. As an IIC Fellow, she is excited to work on impactful public sector solutions at the intersection of law, tech, and policy.
