Anurag Deb

Project Lead, Data & AI

Anurag Deb works at the intersection of technology, public policy, and healthcare, with a particular interest in translating emerging technologies into solutions that can create impact at scale. Trained as a mechanical engineer, he pursued graduate studies at Purdue University, where his research focused on computational approaches to cardiovascular medicine. He subsequently worked in oncology clinical research at BeiGene before moving into entrepreneurship and the development sector.

Prior to joining IIC, Anurag worked with PATH on health innovation and technology-led public health programmes and has also built ventures at the intersection of technology and healthcare.

At IIC, Anurag leads the Data and AI project with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), working closely with the IndiaAI Mission. His work spans AI infrastructure and datasets, innovation programmes, and the development and deployment of AI for public good, with a focus on building systems that enable India’s broader AI ecosystem.
